Ways to nourish your Relationship

1. Make sure at least once this week you tell her that who she is, her basic core, is what you adore.

2. Take her in your arms and tell her how much value she has as a human being.

3. Comment on what you like about her personality. Reinforce her capabilities.

4. Notice the little things she does for you and tell her that you appreciate them.

5. Write her a love letter this week. Tell her how much she means to you. Review some wonderful moments you have shared with her. Send it through the mail; it’s more romantic that way.

6. Praise her in front of someone else. Let her hear you tell someone else how lucky you are to have this woman in your life. She may act embarrassed at the time, but she’ll love you for it.

7. Prove your love with something tangible. Go out of your way. Sacrifice time. Effort or money to show her how special and unique she is.

8. If she asks for a favor, do it without any objections.

9. Compliment her on how nice she looks at least twice this week. Be specific.

10. Make an “I love you” call at least once each day.

If this happened to you, here are several survival steps based on Susan Sawyer’s article found in www.ideaexchange.com.

1. Consider the source of your suspicion.

If you “heard it from a friend who heard it from his officemate who heard it from another friend she’s been fooling around,” look for more reliable information. Hearsay is still hearsay.

2. Make sure that jealousy and insecurity are not making you falsely accuse someone you care about.

3. Trust your instincts. If you think that your girlfriend is cheating on you, then ask her. If her answer is, “oh, no baby. Of course not! How could you even ask me about such a thing? You know I love you and only you,” then good for both of you. But still don’t accept this as 100% true. Make sure your mistrust is based on something you witness or experience.

4. Consider your physical health and emotional well-being. As crass as they sound you should think about these questions: could she be putting you at risk for sexually transmitted diseases? Can you deal with being one of many?

5. Notice a change in your relationship or behavior. Seeing her with someone else, who looks clearly to be more then a friend, is pretty much as solid evidence.

6. Think about what you tell a sibling r a best friend to do if they are in your situation. Is fear keeping you from following your own advice?

7. Discuss your feelings with your girlfriend. Tell her how her cheating is distressing you. Explain what you’re looking for in this relationship.

8. Hear out what your girlfriend has to say. Her response to your concerns should give you the information you need to do what is right for you.

9. Be man enough to inform your girlfriend decision whether it is to forgive her and start over, have a brief separation while you figure out what to do.

10. This does not have to get ugly. Wait until you are able to address this issue as rationally as possible. Regardless of her cheating, remember that you cared about her once, and or still may. You don’t need to console her, but you will feel better about yourself if you take the high road.

Sawyer says if your girl cheats on you once, shame on her! If she cheats on you

twice or more, well, you know the rest.

A British museum curator has built a working replica of a 2,000-year-old Greek machine that has been called the world's first computer.

A dictionary-size assemblage of 37 interlocking dials crafted with the precision and complexity of a 19th-century Swiss clock, the Antikythera mechanism was used for modeling and predicting the movements of the heavenly bodies as well as the dates and locations of upcoming Olympic games.

The original 81 shards of the Antikythera were recovered from under the sea (near the Greek island of Antikythera) in 1902, rusted and clumped together in a nearly indecipherable mass. Scientists dated it to 150 B.C. Such craftsmanship wouldn't be seen for another 1,000 years — but its purpose was a mystery for decades.

Many scientists have worked since the 1950s to piece together the story, with the help of some very sophisticated imaging technology in recent years, including X-ray and gamma-ray imaging and 3-D computer modeling.

Now, though, it has been rebuilt. As is almost always the way with these things, it was an amateur who cracked it. Michael Wright, a former curator at the Science Museum in London, has built a replica of the Antikythera, which works perfectly.

In the video from New Scientist below, Wright shows how the machine works.

In short, Antikythera's user interface is deceptively simple, operated by a simple knob on the side. This conceals the intricacy within, amounting to a complex mathematical model, tracking the movements of planetary bodies and incorporating a series of submechanisms to account for the eccentricities of their rotation.

A dial on the faceplace featured the Greek zodiac and an Egyptian calendar; pointers showed the location of the moon and the five planets known at the time. On the machine's back, an upper dial shows a 19-year calendar (matching the solunar cycle) and the timing of upcoming Olympic games. A lower dial shows a 76-year cycle (when the Olympic and solunar cycles coincide) and indicates the months in which lunar and solar eclipses can be expected.

According to New Scientist, this is the first working model of the Antikythera computer to include all of the device's known features. And, like the original machine, it has been built of recycled metal plates. That's right: The Antikythera mechanism is not only the world's oldest computer, it's also the world's first green computer.

When I first saw the building structure of the famous Sto. Niño Shrine of Leyte here in the City of Tacloban, I was fascinated and at the same time mystified by it. I kept on asking myself how it looks like inside since I just get information of it by opening the pages of the magazines and newspaper through articles of the said shrine.

Riding through a bus whenever I get a chance to go home during weekends, it is always a route to pass by at the Sto. Niño Shrine. I just glance over the structure and wonder when I will have the opportunity to visit such place someday.

Until, there was an announcement made that we will be having an educational trip at no other than the said shrine which is one of the most beautiful and prestigious shrine in whole Region 8. I said to myself that it was a dream comes true because all I was thinking is that it was impossible for me to visit such place since I have no money to utilize to go visit such place and I have no guts since I’m no tourist after all.

We were 46 in all who participated the tour excluding our mentors. Some of my classmates brought cameras for picture taking as souvenirs, they were allowed but with charge fee. We were ordered to take off our shoes, fall in line and if possible according to them, we should not make unnecessary movements. So, falling in line, finally, we got inside and holding my breath, I can’t believe that I was really inside, I felt like I was dreaming and floating, I tried to rub my eyes off to wake myself up but it didn’t work out, really, I was not dreaming. I know that I am overreacting but the fact that I was inside of the former haven of the famous Marcoses, I cannot be blame for this jittering feeling I felt.

There were no thins that I did not appreciate. All things and every piece were pleasing to the eyes. At one moment, when I look furiously at a certain piece, and in a sudden, when I look at the other way, my eyes would catch its attention. From the local pieces to imported ones, I couldn’t describe much but to my delight, everything seems magnificent, be it sophisticated or somewhat exotic. The Immaculate Mother mosaic, made by broken pieces of mosaic with natural color imported from Italy was the one I eyed most. I’m thinking of myself to have my own sort of mini-museum for housing different collectables from different countries and places.

The fact that me and my colleagues would like to roam around and appreciate keenly every detail and every display of every rooms, we were unable to rotate some of the innermost part of the shrine, we were not satisfied and we were craving for more. The covered time for us to explore the whole shrine was only 35 minutes and it was not enough for such a fantastic tourist spot to be. Another hindrance is the harsh treatment, (call it exaggerated) I say harsh treatment of the ushers or the tourist guide for the reasons that we were given a strict treatment; they were so non-accommodating, unfriendly and arrogant. They don’t deserve to be called tourist guide because they do not know how to promote the goodwill of tourism, they did not even possess the characteristic of being hospitable. They should be thankful for us since aside from patronizing the shrine they’re promoting, they are also earning from us.

So much for the ungrateful ushers, to my amazement, I did not imagine that such a small place brought us to a wholesome adventure. Glancing at the structure from the outside, when one hasn’t entered yet the shrine, it would be unbelievable that there are many things that need to be discovering inside. I was really like I had traveled across the country and as if I had visited other foreign countries too. Now, I had learned more to appreciate and value much the beauty of our country, and indeed, I had discovered many things during my tour to Sto. Niño Shrine. We are very rich in culture and tradition and is a truly mixture of the East and West hemispheres regardless of our economic declination. Indeed, it was terrific and entertaining. What an inexhaustible journey it has been!
